  • Football – 2nd XI Football vs Slough and Eton

    Thu 23 Feb 2023

On Thursday, the 2nd XI Football team faced Slough and Eton in the School League.  It was a dream start for Windsor as they scored right from kick off.  A deep precise pass from Tegh Banse found the on-rushing Peter Brant, who chested the ball and finished calmly with the quickest goal ever scored for Windsor in under seven seconds. After this, the game was one-way traffic and Windsor found themselves 5-0 up at half-time with goals from Jack Ranner, Oskar Reisi, James Miller and a 40-yard effort from Harvey Chappell.  The second half continued the same as the first with further goals from Reisi x2 (hat-trick), Miller, Tomiwa Abiola and Ellis Short resulting in a convincing 10-1 win for Windsor.

  • Football - 1st XI Football vs Piggott School

    Wed 22 Feb 2023

On Wednesday, the 1st XI team played against Piggott School in the School League.  The game started tensely, with both teams making mistakes and allowing the opposition in goal, but both sides missed a host of chances. As the first half progressed, Windsor Boys’ managed to find the back of the net twice, with clinical finishes from Tom Jansen.  Piggott School continued to push forward but were kept at bay by Freddie Ramsden-Head in the Windsor goal.  In the second half Windsor changed formation to play on the counterattack, which allowed Piggott more possession.  However, this worked well as Will Gillies broke clear and won a penalty that was coolly converted by Oli Bach. As the game continued, Piggott had chance e after chance but could not finish them with the outstanding Ramsden head pulling off save after save. The game finished 3-1 with Windsor holding on but overall it was a well fought victory.

  • U16 vs Oratory School – Tournament

    Mon 20 Feb 2023

The U16 Rugby team went to St James's Senior Boys’ School to play a Rugby 7’s tournament.  Having not played much 7’s before, the opening game against Oratory School was an eye opening experience that ended in an unfortunate 33-12 defeat. However, we learnt very quickly and got better throughout the tournament, beating Burnham Grammar School, Radnor House and finally St James’ in the final game. This meant we finished 2nd overall and came away with a well-deserved silver medal. Player of the tournament was Mani Hilton.

  • Hockey – Year 10 vs Wandsworth College

    Wed 08 Feb 2023

On Wednesday afternoon, the Year 10B team played against Lords Wandsworth College.  The game was close throughout the first half with lots of possession in midfield and neither side making many chances.  Windsor were trying to play hockey with right way with some good play at the back by Leve Nagy, Ben Bailey, Ben Mongey and Max Cunningham, feeding the ball into the wings but sadly not coming off.  Kian Afroog was a constant threat in midfield but was overrun by the opposition.

As the second half started and the opposition tired, Windsor gained the upper hand. After several chances, a goal mouth scramble fell to Ben Swanborough who put the home side ahead.  This was soon 2-0 with Year 9, Harry Miall, seeing his shot saved on the line and Hussan Ali tapping home from close range. As the game came to the end, Ben Mongey moved into midfield and created several more chances but sadly Windsor could not take them.
Overall a good performance and a 2-0 win.

  • TVLP Concert

    Wed 08 Feb 2023

Our concert with Thames Valley Learning Partnership was a huge success, and our hall was full of students from across Windsor, Slough, Eton and Ascot. The hall was packed full of people and the music was all a very high standard. We had choirs, soloists and ensembles – and such a range of styles and genres. Our Boys’ Choir and Guitar ensemble performed as well as the Big Band.  The evening ended with a joint choral performance of “Shine” by Take That, and we had Year 13 band Euphoria performing the backing for the students. It was a great end to a wonderful evening and a suitable end to the term.

  • Football - Year 9 vs St Bartholomew’s School - County Cup

    Thu 02 Feb 2023

On Thursday afternoon, the Year 9 football team played away at St Bartholomew’s School, in Newbury, in the County Cup second round. Since being absent from any games or training since last year, it was going to be tough to get going again.  The game began with a slow start from both teams.  After the first ten minutes St Bartholomew’s settled into the game quickly and went ahead with a great strike. However, as the half went on Windsor started to find their feet playing into the strong wind.  From several attacks they gained a corner, Archie McWhirter fizzed the ball in right over the goalie and on a plate for James Evans to head the ball in. Windsor gained confidence from this goal which led to another corner from Archie McWhirter and once again James Evans headed the ball into the back of the net to give Windsor Boys’ the lead. With chances happening left, right and centre Windsor were pushing for a third goal but some poor decision-making in front goal kept St Bartholomew’s in the game. Time was ticking as the opposition were getting agitated forcing them to make some changes.  In the last minute of the game Miguel Dinis played a brilliant ball over the top of the defence and Josh Hill was one on one with the keeper and cleverly went around the keeper with a composed finish to end the game with a 3-1 victory taking us into the next round of the cup. It was a well earnt win but Windsor made hard work of it and will have to perform better if they want to go further in the cup.
