Student Leadership
Student Leadership and School Council
A new Student Leadership structure has been introduced this year with the aim of giving students a voice and greater focus on where they can help make a contribution to school life. There are 6 teams including: Charity, Community, Environment, Events, Learning, and Wellbeing & Diversity. These teams are each led by two senior prefects (Year 13) with at least two more student representatives from every year from Year 12 down to Year 9, supporting them. These individual teams will meet regularly to discuss new ideas and to catch up on recent progress. These ideas will be passed on to the Head Boy and Deputy Head Boys who will act as a bridge between Student and Staff Leadership. The aim of this new structure is to encourage inclusivity as students from right across the school will be able to share their views and opinions.
So far, the new Student Leadership team has been involved in a range of events. We successfully ran Macmillan Coffee morning with all of the Senior Prefects playing a part and the Charity and Events teams taking a leading role. Also, fifteen student leaders attended a Leadership Conference run by the Thames Valley Learning Partnership at St Joseph’s in Slough, where they were set Dragon’s Den style challenges and presented them to business leaders from the local area. This was a great opportunity for the boys to develop key leadership skills and they did themselves and the school proud.
The Senior Prefects leading the teams are as follows:
- Charity: Isha Islam, Dylan Price and Ayoub Aitbenmoussa
- Community: Kristien Lund and Callum Laing
- Environment: Jack Nelhams and Laurence James
- Events: Jonah McIntyre and Oliver Teale
- Learning: Arthur Jacobs and Ryan Newman
- Wellbeing & Diversity: Toby Davies and Arjun Bassi
If you are interested in helping with any of these teams, please contact any of the Senior Prefects, we will be more than happy to discuss any queries you may have. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a genuine impact on school improvement and we would really appreciate your support.
