Ultimate Frisbee Junior Indoor Nationals – 19th/20th March 2022

After a two year respite, the boys were eagerly anticipating Indoor Nationals at the weekend.  We went up to Wolverhampton to face up against the best schools in the UK over a two day tournament. We sent two teams of Year 9 and 10s in the U17 division so it was always going to be a tough weekend competing against a lot of older kids.
Windsor Wolves B team list

  • Milan Martinez (Captain)
  • Josh O'Reilly
  • Oscar Khuu
  • Tristan Rees-Jones
  • Arran Eden
  • Ben Bailey
  • Jack Lee
  • Levi Nagy
  • Evan Wilks

It was a big learning curve for Windsor Wolves B with their first competition since they started playing in September. They managed to find a lot of success with Milan and Ben throwing deep shots to Evan and Josh. Their Spirit of the Game was excellent with them showing great sportsmanship. The team learnt a lot and will be working hard to move up the ranks in the years to come. The team finished 18th.

MVP (Most Valuable Player) – Milan

MIP (Most Improved Player) – Jack

MSP (Most Spirited Player) – Oscar

Windsor Wolves A team list:

  • Ben Dewar
  • Marcus Kalsi-Stolen (captain)
  • Jassien Sabri
  • Will Laurie
  • Ryan James
  • Arran Eden (Saturday)
  • Levi Nagy (Saturday)

Wolves A were slightly short on numbers on the Saturday so a big thanks goes to Arran and Levi for helping out with the Saturday games. After they started gelling, they played some excellent Ultimate especially when they sorted out their defensive strategy. They just missed out on the top eight in a tight game but then controlled all their remaining games including, against their local rivals and club teammates, Reading Rhinos. Windsor Wolves A finished 9th bringing back the Plate and their first trophy success. With next year being their final year in the U17s division, they’ll be hoping to break the top four.

MVP – Jassien

MIP – Ryan

MSP - Ben
