On Monday 26th September Mr Breen took nine swimmers to St George’s School in Ascot to take part in the English School Swimming Association Berkshire qualifying round. Two teams were entered, one into the intermediate division and one into the senior division. Both teams took part in two events, the 4x50 freestyle relay and the 4x50 medley relay.  

 

The senior team, James Murphy, Jonah McIntyre, Toby Davies and Tomasz Peczak, raced in medley relay and then Aaron Wilks replaced Jonah for the freestyle relay. Both teams won the events with very fast swims from the whole team, beating the large numbers of private schools that they were competing against.

 

The intermediate team, Oviyan Mandal, Tom Crossland, Finbarr Eaton and Darius Sofizadeh also competed in both relays and like the senior team they all put in some very quick swims which meant they won both events by a long way.

 

Hopefully both teams put in quick enough times to be able to qualify for the national finals that will be held in November.
