2nd XI Football vs St Bart's
Windsor Boys' 2nds started off with high intensity against the quiet St Bartholomew's. With Windsor's controlling the game for the first 20 minutes our first goal finally came, with Morgan Malik taking on countless players then off loading the ball through to Nathan Jones, our striker, a calm and collective finnish from Nathan taking it around the goalie to then pass the ball in the net. Near the end of the second half Windsor then make a counterattack, with Herbie Ruse and Morgan storming up the pitch with the ball making light work of St Bart's midfield. The ball then played through to Nathan who then squared it off to Luke Smith who then passed the ball in the net. After having an outstanding first half we walked off the pitch 2-0 up. Windsor then went out with the same intensity and confidence as the first half but just couldn't seem to put the ball in the back of the net. After hitting the woodwork at least four times in the second half the third goal finally came. Will Gregory at left back sent a lovely ball over to Nathan once again who calmly slotted the ball past goalie to make it 3-0. After finishing at 3-0 the Windsor Boys’ walked off the pitch extremely happy with the amount of effort put in by all the players. A special mention for the two centre backs Jack and Ilio denying the St Bart's forwards on every attack. Also, a special mention to Morgan Malik playing in midfield creating some beautiful attacks for the Windsor Boys’ forwards to play with. Lastly, man of the match goes to the Captain playing in the middle of park, Herbie Ruse. Herbie was running the midfield with so much confidence and skill, always encouraging the boys to get stuck in and play hard.
