Add and subtract positive and negative integers. Multiply or divide any number by powers of 10. Multiply and divide signed integers. Round to a given number of decimal places or significant figures. Convert between fractions, decimals and percentages. Find the prime factor decomposition of positive integers and write as a product using index notation. Find LCM and HCF.

Simplify expressions by cancelling. Substitute positive and negative numbers into expressions, including those using brackets and powers. Solve linear equations, with integer coefficients, in which the unknown appears on either side or both sides of the equation. Solve angle or perimeter problems using algebra. Find the nth term for a pattern or linear sequence.

Create histograms with equal class intervals; stem and leaf diagrams. Interpret simple pie charts using fractions and percentages. Complete 2-way tables. Estimate the mean from a grouped data frequency table. Recognise and describe single translations using column vectors on a coordinate grid. Extend knowledge of shapes to fractional and negative.

Find the length of a shorter side in a right-angled triangle.  Apply Pythagoras’s Theorem to worded problems. Calculate percentage increase and decrease. Find a percentage of a quantity; including using a multiplier. Solve a ratio problem in context. Compare ratios. Write ratios in the form 1:m or m:1. Calculate pressure. Calculate area under velocity-time graphs for distance.

Sketch nets of cuboids and prisms. Identify and sketch planes of symmetry of 3D solids. Find the perimeter and area of parallelograms, trapezia and compound shapes. Calculate the circumference and area of circles. Find the surface area and volume of cylinders, prisms, cubes and cuboids. Understand and use the angle properties of triangles and intersecting lines.

Be able to list all outcomes for single events. Work out probabilities from frequency tables and two-way tables. Add simple probabilities. Identify possible sources of bias in the design and use of data collection sheets and questionnaires. Understand primary and secondary data sources. Use the stratified sampling methods. Reflect, revise and extend.
