Safeguarding

At The Windsor Boys’ School, the safety and welfare of every student is our main concern. We want to work in partnership with parents and carers to help all our students to develop and achieve their full potential.

In order to ensure a safe environment for students, The Windsor Boys’ School follows a strict selection and recruitment policy which includes all statutory checks on staff and volunteers including Enhancd DBS (disclosure and barring service) checks.

Following the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2022, our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mr T Paul, Assistant Headteacher, and he has received appropriate training for this role. He is responsible for ensuring all staff in contact with students receive regular child protection awareness training. The training is monitored and comprehensive records kept by the DSL. This academic year all staff have completed KCSIE 2022 updates, E-Safety and Prevent training.

All staff are required to report any causes of concern to the DSL or Deputies.  Referrals are logged and monitored to make sure they are followed up appropriately.

There are occasions that our concern about a student may mean that we have to consult with external agencies.  We would always aim to work in partnership with parents and carers, but there may be occasions where there may be exceptions to this when concerns are raised for the protection of the child.

Student attendance is monitored closely and concerns are shared as appropriate with parents/carers.

If you wish to raise a safeguarding concern, please contact Mr Paul, DSL or Mr Rooke, Deputy DSL. They will be able to provide with you with the best advice and help using the appropriate degree of confidentiality.  The DSL can be contacted on 01753 716060 or via email at apaul@twbs.co.uk
