TWBS XI Football vs Piggott School Jan 14, 2022

On Wednesday the 1XI Football team played against Piggott School in the league.  Windsor started on the back foot with Piggott side dominating possession and having the majority of the chances but Windsor held strong and managed with the excellent Ollie Bach winning a penalty which captain Joe Bartlett scored.

The score stayed the same until after half time when the defence switch off and allow Piggott to score 3 goals in 10 minutes and change the game. This could sometimes be the sign for a side to give up.   However the boys dug deep and kept battling, getting a goal back with another penalty from Bartlett.

Piggott School scored again with a fine strike but Windsor kept in touching distance as Bartlett secured his hattrick. The game continued to go end to end but Windsor’s supreme fitness started to make the difference and man of the match Bach scored the goal of the game to make it 4-4.

In the dying stages Windsor claimed for a pen but the referee did not give it and even with Mr Chester on VAR the decision was not over turned.  Not the result that Windsor wanted but the spirit shown was great to see.
