Director of Music Report for TWBS – Week 6 - Oct 15, 2021

There is so much music making going on at the moment, and as we reach week 6 I am increasingly proud of all the students. On Sunday we had an afternoon rehearsal for “The Little Mermaid” and it felt like so much began to really “click”. The students worked really hard with and Mr Thomas & I left feeling uplifted and excited!

Monday night saw our first Night at the Musicals of the year and we had 23 soloists in total. Well-done to all the performers, it was a magical evening. Standing up to sing in the Drama Studio Theatre is not easy, and yet every single performer had the courage to go for it! The theatre was packed, and the audience response was excellent. And so, we look ahead to next week and our concert on Thursday evening. Rehearsals for this started on September 1st and I can’t wait to share the music with you. There is nothing like an Autumn Concert and it will features all of the talent we have from the Windsor Upper Schools. If you would like to come along then you will need to book a ticket – Doors open at 18:00 and the concert starts at 18:30. There is a licensed bar for the interval, and it will be a great evening for all the family.

The students here are incredible and the talent is amazing. We have so much to share in the concert next week and then we will embark on our Christmas program. Do keep an eye on all we are doing on our social media channels. Another week done and I am a very proud and excited Director of Music
