County Cup Cricket Match – WBS v Claires Court - Jun 11, 2021
Captain Ben Dewar won the toss and decided to put Claires Court School to bat first.
TWBS started with the boys displaying excellent bowling and fielding which limited Claire’s Court to only 38 runs off the first 10 overs. As the match continued Claire’s Court started to get into their groove, with the opening batsmen finding some space within the field hitting some well executed fours and sixes. However, this didn’t stop TWBS as Ollie Leeson caught a high catch from a Jake Seeburg bowl. Claires Court continued to battle on and managed to stump up 129 runs after the 20 overs.
It was now the turn for TWBS to bat needing 130 runs to win the game. TWBS got off to a rocky start losing 3 early wickets. One of the boys received an unplayable ball that pitched on leg stump and clipped the top of off. However batsmen Kumayle, Ben and Callum settled the nerves and achieved 50 runs after the first 10 overs. On a hot sunny day at Stovell the heat started to take its toll on TWBS batsmen as they were bowled out for 68 runs.
The boys did incredibly well for their first ever cricket fixture at TWBS and it was all smiles after the game.
