British Junior Rowing Championship - Sep 10, 2021
It seems a long time a go now but back at then end of July sixteen boys competed at the British Junior Rowing Championships in Nottingham across the weekend of 16th – 18th July
The crew of Atticus Chute, Sanad Al Qahef, Pedro Theriaga, Jimmy Harlow and cox Joshua Claassen raced extremely well through the time trial qualification races and semi finals, before taking the GOLD medal in the ‘A’ final, capping what has been an excellent year for them, and highlighting how committed they were to their training, through all the lockdowns – a testament to persistence and desire to do it, their future is bright.
Meanwhile the J18 crew of Marcus Chute Max Bird, Jacob Ioras and Charlie Warren, also qualified all the way to the ‘A’ Final where they too went on to take the GOLD medal in an awesome display of crew sculling. They have had an excellent season, however this was their first actual victory of the year. The second quad of Charlie Ingham Matty Sadler Dylan James and Max Grffin Sadler produced an unprecedented performance to make the ‘A’ final too coming home in sixth place of the six boat ‘A’ final. An outstanding result for a second boat!
